This listing is for an American Aesthetic 3 piece sterling silver tea set by Wood & Hughes circa 1870. The set includes a kettle on stand with original burner, a tea pot and a coffee pot. They are decorated with engraved and bas relief floral motifs with bead work accents. The pieces are engraved with the monogram letter “D”.
The kettle on stand measures 14 inches or 35.5 cm high, it weighs 50.71 troy ounces. The coffee pot measures 8 ¾ inches or 22.2 cm high, and is 28.16 troy ounces. The tea pot measures 7 ¼ inches or 18.4 cm high, and weighs 24.31 troy ounces. They are marked on the bottom “W&H STERLING”, all the pieces have been tested and are guaranteed to be so. Wood & Hughes was an important 19th century firm in the United States.
This is a nice 3 piece set of American sterling silver. It is in very good condition with some very minor denting to the bodies. Please refer to the photos for more on the look and condition.
