Pair ofAntique Native American Indian Beaded Gauntlet Cuffs with USA Flag & Floral Beadwork & Fringe. This pair of gauntlets is in vintage condition, with 4 small areas of bead loss on the flag side, damage to the bottom leather of the cuffs on 3 sides. And one rip on the bottom cuff on the floral side, with a small triangle of leather missing, shown in the last photo. The binding around the top inside is frayed & someone wrote the letters BU on the insides. Use the zoom to look closely at the photos, it\'s all there. Originally they were probably attached to gauntlet gloves. I bought them at an estate sale many years ago & the people running the sale didn\'t have any information about them, so I don\'t know their history. They are 17\" wide (8 1/2\" when laying flat) around the upper hem, 10\" around the wrist, & 7 1/4\" from top to bottom. The fringe is 5 1/2\" long. They are handmade of brain tanned leather that is still supple, it is not stiff. They have a different pattern of Native American Indian bead work on each side. The back side has a beaded floral design with green leaves & vine, with a heart shape in the center. The flowers are in pink, turquoise, navy blue & black beads. The blue & black beads are faceted & look like glass, they are very sparkly. The front side is totally filled in with beads. They have a background of turquoise seed beads, a red beaded edging on top & bottom, double American flags with stars & stripes in the center & a red star above them. The flags are on yellow poles & the stars are edged in purple-grey colored faceted beads. The beadwork on these gauntlet cuffs is museum quality. They display well & will make a wonderful addition to any historical Native American Indian beadwork collection. Don\'t miss out on this important pair of gauntlet cuffs!
