We are a large, extended family who loves Auto Racing and has multiple sets of tickets to the events at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway... because everyone wants to have theirownseats. We usually have extra tickets and we use to sell those extras to other race fans who would enjoy attending the race. Our goal is to be able to continue ordering tickets, while trying to improve our seats over time, by attempting to break even on sales of our extras — a difficult proposition with all the fees related to buying/listing/paying/shipping/renewing the tickets. But we keep doing it because we love racing...

Why We ThinkTheseAre The BEST Seats At The TrackTheA-Penthouseis on the outside of the Track, between the B-Penthouse (above Stand B) and the Paddock Penthouse (above the Paddock). Box 1 is on thesouthend and is located directly across the track from the Exit of Pit Lane, while Box 28 is on the north end, just past the Scoring Pylon. These seats are inBox 9—so they're closer to Turn 1 then the Start/Finish Line.
FACT:If you're not in one of the Penthouses, then you're not seeing the best view of the race...from above. The bird's eye view OVER the wall and catch-fence allows a truly superior view of the track (and everything else). You're actually looking down at the cars and the drivers, marveling at how ridiculously close those cars get to each other.
NOTE:I.M.S. rebuilt the penthouses in 2016,removing the front roof supports from the A-Penthouse. Now your views north and south are completely unobstructed. Be prepared for the BEST VIEW you've EVER had at the IMS!!While there are other Penthouses, only the A-Penthouse is perfectly located to give youthe best balance of everything. The A-Penthouse provides a muchbetter view of the cars going through Turn 1then thePaddock Penthouse(which is too far away from Turn 1), and the entire A-Penthouse overlooksPit Boxesdirectlyacross the track — where the race is often won or lost (unlike theB-Penthouse—which hasNOPit Boxes opposite the stand). The E-Penthouse is great for the start, but then you're so far away from the Pit Boxes you're missing half the action, plus you'll need binoculars to see the pre/post-race festivities at the Pagoda... and you're so far away from the S/F Line you won't even know who wins a close finish.TheA-Penthouseprovides theabsolute best combination of everything you'll want to seefrom the breathtaking, thunderous start which will shake the stand to the post-race victory lap. First, the bird's eye viewoverthe wall and catch-fence allows a truly superior view of the track (andeverything else). Secondly, you'llsee all the bumping, rubbing and passing in Turn 1, plus be close enough to theStart/Finish Line and the Pagodatostill enjoy the pre-race festivities and the finish of the race. Thirdly, you'll have aGREAT view of the PIT BOXESfrom theStart/Finish Line to the exit of Pit Lane— so bring your camera because the photos I take of the furious action in the pits are one of my favorite things.REMEMBER: the fastest cars always choose to pit as close to theEXITof Pit Lane as possible... that means that most of the fastest cars will have their Pit Boxes DIRECTLY ACROSS fromthe A-Penthouse. There's also aGiant TV Monitoracross from the stand showing the closed circuit tv-feed throughout the race to make sure you won't miss anything that happens at other parts of the track. And if that's not enough, you'll also enjoy shorter lines for thePenthouse-exclusive bathrooms and concession stands.
Lastly, IMS addedELEVATORSto the stands during the 2016 renovation that are now open to the public. So if you dread going up all those steps, or down them after the race... that's no longer a worry.The Photos:I have included photos taken at Carb Day 2016 from the A-Penthouse/Box 7, to show you the (almost) the EXACT view from these seats. Please note the box numbers on the front guardrail in a few of the photos.
I've been asked if there is anythingbad/negativeabout sitting in these seats... and the answer is "yes". These seats areaddictive! If you sit in theA-Penthouse, you won't wanttosettlefor anything less in the future. These seats arethatgood.
