All original and in as found condition. Extremely rare Confederate Civil War D Guard long knife or short sword. Right out of my personal collection. Unmarked and blacksmith made in the south. Measures a whopping 20 1/4\" inches long. Blade measures 15 1/4\" inches long. I acquired this many years ago and the story that came with it was that it was from Danville, Virginia area and was carried in the civil war. Could be from North Carolina as well. Pretty nice condition considering its age and use. Original finish. Uncleaned. Some nicks in the blade. Weighs over one pound. You will not be disappointed. offer often. I am adding some additional photos of the thickness of the blade. It looks to be 3/16\" inch thick on the blade side of the d-guard. About 1/4\" inch thick on the handle part. It is a heavy blade. I hope these pictures help.Sorry for the poor quality. I had a hard time getting the camera to focus.
