For the12th consecutive year, The IronmanFoundation is conducting its annual sale with to benefit The IRONMANFoundation and its charitable endeavorsworldwide.
More than 80,000athletes vie for entry to the IRONMAN World Championship each year, while onlyapproximately 1,900 make it to the starting line on race day. This year’ssale gives athletes the opportunity to offer on one of three coveted slots tothe 2014 IRONMAN World Championship, taking place on October 11 in Kailua-Kona,Hawai`i. The sale incorporates three phases with one entry available perweek. Each entry begins with a minimum offer of $10,000 and 100 percent of themoney from the final winning will go to support the charitable efforts of TheIRONMAN Foundation.
To date, more than $2million has been raised through the annual IRONMAN Foundation sale. Through the success of the sale specifically, The IRONMANFoundation has donated to organizations like The Blazeman Foundation,Hospice of Kona, C Different, Daniel Robert Sayre Memorial Foundation – withfunds benefitting The Hawai`i Fire Department on Hawai`i Island, ThePediatric Cancer Foundation, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, Peoples Advocacyfor Trails Hawai`i (PATH) and The County of Hawai`i Parks &Recreation Department.
In addition to receivingthe opportunity to compete at the 2014 IRONMAN World Championship, The IRONMANFoundation sale winners will receive private athlete registrationin Kona and four VIP packages, including race-day passes and invitations torace-week functions.
Funding for the sale does not have to be generated through one source, as fundraisingefforts are acceptable; however, funds are due once the sale ends. All fundsare tax-deductible in the United States. International buyers will need tolocally verify tax deductibility. All proceeds go to The IRONMAN Foundation,which in turn makes donations to support nonprofit initiatives. The IRONMAN Foundation covers alladministrative costs to ensure all monies raised will directly benefit theselected charities.
