Benefiting - The IRONMAN Foundation 2017 IRONMAN® WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP October 14, 2017 – Kailua-Kona, Hawaii
For the15th consecutive year, The IRONMAN Foundation is conducting its annual sale via to benefit The IRONMAN Foundation and its charitable endeavorsworldwide.
More than 80,000 athletes vie for entry to the IRONMAN World Championship each year, while only approximately 2,000 make it to the starting line on race day. This year’s sale gives athletes the opportunity to offer on one offive coveted slots to the 2017 IRONMAN World Championship, taking place on October 14, 2017 in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i. The sale incorporatesfive phases with one entry available per week. Each entry begins with an openingoffer of $10,000 and 100 percent of the donation from the final winning will go to support the charitable efforts of The IRONMAN Foundation.
To date, more than $2.25 million has been raised through the IRONMAN Foundation\'s Annual Kona sale on . Proceeds from the sale support The IRONMAN Foundation Community fund. Through the success of the sale specifically, The IRONMAN Foundation has donated to organizations like The Blazeman Foundation, Hospice of Kona, C Different, Daniel Robert Sayre Memorial Foundation – with funds benefitting The Hawai`i Fire Department on Hawai`i Island, The Pediatric Cancer Foundation, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawai`i (PATH) and The County of Hawai`i Parks & Recreation Department.
In addition to receiving the opportunity to compete at the 2017 IRONMAN World Championship, The IRONMAN Foundation Annual salewinners will receive private athlete registration in Kona andthree VIP packages (athlete and two guest), including race-day passes and invitations to race-week functions. Additional VIP passes may be purchased outside of the sale.
Funding for the sale does not have to be generated through one source, as fundraising efforts are acceptable. The IRONMAN Foundation will contact the winning buyers to arrange the donation.The IRONMAN Foundation holds a U.S. registered 501 (c) (3) status, F.E.I # 65-1172979. The donation portion of the winning offer is tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law in the United States. Each winning buyer should consult with their tax advisor.International buyers will need to locally verify tax deductibility. All proceeds go to The IRONMAN Foundation, which in turn makes donations to support nonprofit initiatives. The IRONMAN Foundation covers all administrative costs to ensure 100% of allfunds raised will directly benefit the selected charities.
