This outstanding example standing at 22\" tall, is 100% damage free! She is modeled after the super-desirable \"Long-Faced\" or \"Sad\" Jumeau design by the French manufacturer. The Triste was originally designed by the French artist Albert-Ernest Carriere Belleuse of Sevres, France for Jumeau circa 1879. Since the genuine antique versions of these dolls are in such demand and can fetch incredibly high prices, she is a GREAT substitute for the person who appreciates antique dolls but doesn\'t want to mortgage their home or sell their first born in order to own such a treasure!

She is modeled BEAUTIFULLY, in an excellent reproduction design, by the now-retired doll artist Margaret Anne Rothwell, whose limited edition \"Lady Anne\" dolls are now sought after by collectors. This gorgeous doll has the original hand-written signature on the back side of the bisque head, and is 100 percent GREAT condition! She has a bisque socket head, with fabulous cornflower blue paperweight eyes, with painted upper & lower lashes, multi-stroke brows in light brown, molded closed mouth with shading and accent lines and a white space between the lips, and full chunky cheeks with gently blushed bisque finish, along with a dimpled chin, and pierced ears with blue glass bead earrings. The expression is lovely and somewhat sad--thus the name \"Triste\" meaning sad in French. On the back of the head by the left ear is a hand-written signature: Aug 2009 Margaret-Anne. She wears a blond human hair wig in loose banana curls that come down past her shoulders. She is on a fully pose-able modern composition body, and stands at 22.5\" tall.

A white cotton broderie anglaise bonnet sits atop her head, with a scalloped edge trim. She wears a steel blue cotton dress with white cuffs and double collar, with lavender piping and double-pleated front and a white cotton sash at the dropped waist. A white cotton half slip with lace trim goes underneath along with a matching pair of cream lace trimmed chemise and pantaloons in a faux silk. White leather shoes and white cotton lace socks clad her feet. She wears golden and cobalt blue earrings.

CONDITION: Excellent. The bisque head is free of hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration, and has a pleasant modeling and deep molding. The composition body has a nice finish and poses well, and is overall presentation ready. These are just some of the benefits of having a newer reproduction doll!
