2Vtg Vogue Strung Ginny Dolls Tagged Dress Hair Bow Carol#26 Kindergarten Series
Price: US $286.00

Offered here for your offerding pleasure is this pair of early vintage Vogue strung and dressed Ginny dolls, with a Vogue Ginny doll pamphlet! Both dolls are fully dressed, including one in a rare, original hair bow and tagged dress! These dolls date to the very early 1950\'s and are the version of the beloved Ginny doll with straight, strung legs, and painted eyelashes. The lot is in overall generally very good condition. A full discussion of condition follows.

Both dolls have been re-strung at one time or another. The blond is nice and tight, and the brunette can hold a pose pretty good too, but is just a little looser than the blond. The dolls stand 7 1/2\" tall and are fully dressed--one blond and one brunette, both in pigtails. The accompanying brochure says that \"It\'s fun to change Ginny\'s hair-do to match your own. Her hair can be dampened, put up in curlers...and set in a variety of different hairstyles.\" These braids are likely not in the original set, but the hair on both looks nice and full. You can see a little of the cloth wig cap on the brunette in the back. The blond doll has soft dynel hair that has the appearance of, and a similar texture to mohair. The brunette\'s hair seems more like nylon and is shinier in appearance.

More features of the blond: She was found with the accompanying brochure and in the dress, panties, and hair bow you see her in. Nice, high color of the red cheeks and lips. One tiny rub on the right cheek. Brows and lashes are faded to a light blond. She has blue sleep eyes that sometimes stick in a downward cast, but a nudge of the fingertip will open them up. Her creamy skin tone is nice and even and all parts match. She has the common wishbone shaped mold lines seen faintly on her chest. She is wearing an original tagged dress and hair bow from the Kindergarten Afternoon Series called \'Carol\' #26. The dress is tagged Original Vogue Dolls, Inc. It\'s rare to find the hair bow. It is made of pink satin held on with a little bar pin, which looks like the original attachment to me. The hair ribbon and the ribbon on the dress are lightly frayed. The dress is in good condition though ever so slightly age yellowed. I don\'t know if the panties (a few tiny holes worn through) are original. It seems like the usual panties are puffy, gathered  bloomers or picot edged nylon. Socks and unmarked shoes are vintage replacements. This doll is super sweet!

The brunette is a cutie, nice and early, but with a few issues that her blond friend does not have. She has not retained her cheek color, but her blue sleep eyes open and close quite freely and without any problems. Her brows and lashes have turned to a pale yellowish-green color. She\'s got a funny little mold mark on the inside of her right wrist, as pictured. In that same close up photo you can see that there is some discoloration of the lower body and legs--kind of a yellowish cast, with one leg differing in color from the other a bit. None of the clothing is tagged and the shoes are not marked. Her dress is cute but may or may not be a Vogue dress. It fastens in the back with a covered snap. The outfit comes with the dress, a red half slip, cotton knit panties and the white shoes.

The original Vogue \"hi! I\'m Ginny\" pamphlet shows the Carol #26 outfit as well as 41 other outfits plus accessories, making it a valuable resource for identifying dolls and clothing. The paper is somewhat yellowed, has a few scuffs and tiny tears, and splitting along the fold lines in some places. All in all, this is a nice little lot that includes the pamphlet and not one, but TWO early strung Ginnies, that might both be had for the one low opening offer! I have several more pieces of tagged Vogue Ginny clothes that I will be listing in separate sales. If you have the time and interest, please take a look! Keep in mind that any of the additional clothing can ship for free with the purchase of this lot!
