READ THIS PART After getting this unit and and using it for a week I became obsessed with the idea of getting it connected to the Internet without losing any capability it had already. Originally this came with a MicroMac MMXL99 Accelerator card installed in the PDS socket. I have removed the MMXL card and ordered a new MC68882FN33A Co Processor to install directly on the Motherboard. I am going to install an Ethernet card in the PDS socket. As well I have ordered extra RAM to max the machine out to 10MB from the 6MB. What all this means is the unit is complete according to my initial listing (see below) but as of right now I expect this to be Internet Ready and actually be online and tested in 2-3 weeks time. So, you probably do not want to buy this right now but rather wait a few weeks until it is 100% finished. When it is finished I will remove this header and say, Its Done and Online!!! And post pictures of this huggable little computer surfing around :))
This listing is for a COMPLETE WORKING and UPGRADED Apple Macintosh Color Classic ComputerThis is a fantastic find. I plugged it in and ran it for 4 days without problems or issues. Everything works. Apple Color Classic (M1600) with 6MB RAM, 80MB Hard Drive, 512KB VRAM, Mouse, Keyboard. All tested and 100% working as they should!!!The Motherboard battery was dead (no leaking or corrosion) so I bought a new battery and replaced it. New battery works perfectly, date and time always accurate when unit boots.I also bought a 256K VRAM upgrade and installed that, maxing the VRAM (512K) and allowing thousands of colors. Nice!I cleared the hard drive and reinstalled Mac OS 7.1 from the original 3.5\" floppy discs. Floppy drive works great and all discs work great.This comes with a ton of extras including a StyleWriter II Printer, original Manuals, original OS 7.1 install discs and an Apple West Ridge Designs carry bag unlike any I have ever seen before and of course, all cables and cords required for use.The carry bag is in absolute perfect condition and is extremely rare find. This is by West Ridge Designs, similar to the regular tan bag but I think a limited edition bag or possibly a swag bag from an Apple conference. I have been unable to find any type of information about this bag or where it came from. Nothing on Google. The only comparable bag was same style & color (with bold APPLE printed) but different shape, more like a carry on bag. This is for certain made by West Ridge Designs and For certain was made specifically for Apple & Color Classic. Pretty much identical in shape to the regular tan bag they made.READ HERE---->>>> The Only flaw I can find on this unit is 3 or 4 of the keys on the keyboard are slightly faded and there is some yellowing on the keyboard and mouse. The two screws that hold the back panel in place (for motherboard removal) are missing. The tabs are complete and unbroken.Everything shown is included. I normally ship within 24 hours of purchase but in this instance it will ship within 3 days. This will require an insane amount of packing, double boxing, etc etc so that it arrives safely and I do not want to be hurried at all when it comes time to pack it up.
