Don\'t take a chance on buying a Tandy that \'might\' work. Buy with confidence from a company that has loved the TRS-80 CoCo since the first silver model hit the Radio Shack shelves with a whopping 4kB of RAM. Don\'t be fooled by sellers that have never been to a RainbowFest/CoCoFest and that charge 3x more for their \'untested\' machines that smell like dead rodents or are covered with scruff marks.Need more Radio Shack and vintage computer gear? This sale is a Tandy 1000EX. Originally, this model came with 256KB and has CGA graphics with a special \'Tandy\' mode that had 16 colors. The CPU runs at 7.16MHz (8088) and it has a 5.25 drive. Upon receiving the unit, I took it apart and looked over the motherboard for leaking caps, tested the power supply and cleaned the keyboard. The case was scrubbed down as well. It\'s very clean. I connected it to my CM-5 Tandy monitor via CGA and it booted to the \'INSERT DISK\' prompt. I don\'t have any MS-DOS 5.25 disks so I couldn\'t go to the command prompt. I also tested the composite out video and that was fine. I had a picture of the boot screen but accidentally deleted it after I (carefully) packed it up.
You can find the DOS disks floating online as well as various user and technical manuals. I recommend you join the various Tandy Facebook groups to connect with other Tandy users, thought it is a clone so you should have no problem getting technical help.
This unit has been thoroughly cleaned and tested. It was carefully packaged before being shipped. That said, the parts in this computer are over 30+ years so there is always potential for issues due to mother nature, father time and lazy delivery people who throw boxes.
