Apple\'s model M0131 3.5 inch floppy disk drive was introduced with the Macintosh Plus in 1986. It was designed to be used with any Macintosh computer having a 19-pin floppy disk port and 800K ROM\'s, such as the 512Ke, Mac Plus, Mac II, SE, SE/30, etc. The drive\'s maximum capacity on Macintosh computers is 800K. It will also work with 400K diskettes. Although not intended for use with the Apple II (no eject button), it will also work on Apple II computers with certain controllers. Adding an additional floppy disk drive to a vintage Mac makes many operations much easier, especially duplicating diskettes. Note: This drive will not work with original 128K or 512K Macs since these do not have ROM\'s for 800K drives. This particular drive is serial number Y6C0655. It has been fully tested. Photo 3 shows the drive on top of a Macintosh 512Ke with a 400K diskette opened on the desktop (the 512Ke is not included in the sale). You can see that the drive passed the official Apple 800K diagnostic test on my Mac SE/30 in photo 4. This is a reliable drive, and I will guarantee it to be working.Cosmetically this drive is also excellent, as you can see in the photos.If you\'ve got a compatible vintage Macintosh, this will make your toy much easier to use.
