Vintage Digital Equipment Corporation DEC VT101 Terminal/Keyboard - Working
Price: US $350.00
CONDITION:The vintage is about 1981.
Works fine. Runs all internal tests and tested RS232 with computer. And I left it on for 3 days running tests to be sure before I listed it. See photos.
Original VT101 USER GUIDE - which I am including.
The photos show how great a condition it is in.
I used this for 3 years off and on for a computer company I designed machines for.It has been stored in a humidity controlled environment with cover since in one place and not actually moved except that I tested it every year to make sure electronics were still ok (I am an electronics engineer).
Well, I am having to downsize and therefore selling most of my museum although I will always have a fond place in my heart for VT100 series.
It is complete with Keyboard, Power cord, and I have wrapped it in plastic inside the StyrofoamORIGINAL packing material and box. (Yeah, I know, pretty crazy to have the shipping box after 38 years ...)
AS WE ALL KNOW ... shipping a unit with a picture tube in it is also subject to abuse by shipping people no matter how well it is packed. So I will insure it - and BE SURE to check out the box for obvious signs of damage.ALSO - only UPS allows insurance over $100. So I can only allow UPS shipping. (Not that it is easy to collect, if needed).
If you can plug it in, and the screen shows the blinking cursor (and you hear a beep) in a couple of minutes, then it should be fine. You can fill the screen with \"E\"s with a loop back plug and typing \"<ESC>#8\"
Happy computing and nostalgia !
