Vintage MITS ALTAIR 8800a Computer
Price: US $2000.00
Up for sale is vintage MITS Altair 8800a computer. I do not know enough about the Altair hardware to give a rundown of all it\'s components. Included with this sale is the Altair 8800a computer, an MITS KITS Assembly Hints document from MITS, and a bag of screws, wire, etc., that came with the computer when I purchased it. The machine does start up, the fan whirs (and keeps whirring), and red lights on the front panel come on (please see photos). I wish I was as smart as the men/women that not only assembled these, but for ones who could actually program them.
Own a piece of history. The Altair kicked off what was the home computer explosion in the late 70\'s and early 80\'s after appearing on the cover of Popular Electronics. It was MITS Altair that caused two Harvard kids to travel to MITS in New Mexico to pitch their idea for BASIC. The same two would eventually launch a company called Microsoft. Please see photos of what is included in this sale. If you do not see it, it is not included. Please note this computer is HEAVY. Buyer will pay actual shipping cost.
