A&W NICKEL PLATED RAILROAD \"QUEEN\" CONDUCTOR LANTERN GREEN OVER CLEAR GLOBE HART & DUFF. Up for offer is a GORGEOUS, railroad nickel plated conductor lantern with a green over clear globe. This is an Adams & Westlake manufacturer, \"QUEEN\" model, with the \'64 patent football logo. But what makes this frame most interesting is the dual marking on the underside of the bell. Along with the A&W marking, it is also embossed, \"HART & DUFF ST. LOUIS\" with a \"M\" logo. The \"M\" logo is very similar to Meyrose models seen marked with the logo, but the Hart & Duff Company out of St. Louis was actually a manufacturer for hats. Pretty neat to see the dual marking! In this instance, Hart & Duff would have been the distributor or retailer and Adams and Westlake the manufacturer. The frame is in excellent condition with beautiful, nickel plating and a gorgeous, shiny finish. There are no holes, dents, or damage. Only thing to note are two, tiny fatigue stresses on the exterior of the bell but are not major, and are common characteristics of brass or nickel over brass. The frame is original and complete from head to toe and comes with the fount cup or ring with the locking pin that goes down into the exterior of the waist area, removable fount that is embossed \"Q GLOBE\" for a Queen model, and the burner included. Best part of the set is the stunning green over clear globe! Guaranteed old and original, the globe has a clear separation between the green and clear for authenticity. There are no hallmarks but it is in almost mint condition. Only thing to note would be one inside chip or mold flaw that has been photographed. It is a ridge, can be felt with the fingernail, and is not cracked (shown on the inside of the globe of the last photo). A superb set that is a rare unit with dual markings on the underside, and would make a lovely shelf addition piece for the conductor lantern collector or railroad enthusiast!
