A very fine Japanese faux tortoise shell cigar case with lacquer decoration. Dimensions approximately 12cm x 6.5cm. I believe this dates to the Meiji period. Considering the age the condition is very good, please study provided photos as condition report. The only damage I found is one of the small mother of pearl inlay pieces missing, this is visible on the fourth photo, otherwise only age related wear. There are also some \"flakes\" in the shell (second to the last photo) but these seem to be a naturally occurring phenomenon, not a damage. A very nice and preserved item.
