Ace Trains Weaver Ogauge train canopy

This is an AceTrains of Great Britain O gauge metal train canopy, no. AC-1 Constructor Kit.It was also sold under license by Weaver. This particular canopy came from AceTrains. Please read this entire description all the way to the bottom so you know what you are offerding on.

The canopy frame isall metal and put together with screws and nuts like an Erector set. All of themetal pieces are die-cast and chrome plated except for the sheet metal awnings thatrun down each side, the top of the roof, and the sheet-metal platforms, all of whichare lithographed. The kit includes additional two platforms and two ramps, as shown inthe third photo, and also there are insert pieces that model staircases descendingdownward on each platform.

The clear curvedend pieces are single pieces made of a Plexiglas material. The clear roof partswere advertised as glass, but I put this kit together a dozen years ago and nowthe parts seem like Plexiglas to me. Either way, they are all original.

The canopy measures24 inches long, 16 inches across, and 12 inches tall. It can fit either 2 or 3O gauge tracks down the middle. Without the curved side end pieces installed taller Standardgauge trains can fit through the canopy. The bases of the platforms can adjustoutward for three tracks.

The canopy has beenon two different layouts of mine and now it is time to sell. There are a fewscratches in the lithography of the platforms and awnings and two or so gluemarks where I had lightly glued figures. One of the awnings is cut cleanly (see the ninth photo) but when it is screwed in place the splice is hard to notice.

PLEASE NOTE: For safetyin shipping, after I took these photos I unscrewed and removed the leg assemblies andremoved the outer awnings. I also removed the curved clear ends. The curvedpieces are a press fit with clips on the edge of the curved metal opening andthe clear pieces pop out with handling anyway. The screws for the pieces thatwere removed are threaded back into their holes they came from so you will knowwhere things go. Also any press-fit trim pieces, such as the triangular trimpieces on the ends of the awnings, I removed and placed in a plastic bag. AlsoI have included the small empty bags that the screws came in so you know thesizes. There are no instructions, and no original packing although I will ship thecanopy in the original heavy cardboard box (it is a good box, but if you are acollector the box has markings on it).

The metal cast piecesin this kit were a little on the rough side, and the nuts and screws providedwith the kit are made of soft metal that can strip if you are not careful. Irecall that the kit was fiddly to put together with a few holes that didn’tquite line up correctly, and also some of the clear roof panels were tricky toget to stay in place.

NOTE:If you are offerding from outside the United States that is fine, but I will onlysell this canopy outside the United States using the /Pay Pal GlobalShipping Program. Please don\'t offer if you don\'t want to use the Global ShippingProgram.
