This replaces the old 3.5\" floppy drive in all Amiga models and allows you to use a USB stick (included) with ADF (Amiga Floppy Disk) images to load games without ever having to use the old 3.5\" floppy disks again.
720kb 3.5\" Floppy Disks are getting very difficult to find and are unreliable and not much fun to use. By replacing your floppy drive with one of these Floppy Emulators, you can forget about using them ever again. The only current alternative to running classic games from floppy disks is to use the wonderful WHDLoad system. However, low end/stock Amigas will not run WHDLoad, so a Floppy Emulator becomes a cheap and convenient way of having a huge collection of classic Amiga Disks on a solid state storage device at your finger tips.
The kit comes with the Gotek Floppy Emulator with latest Cortex firmware installed. Drive has had the extra jumper pins installed and comes with a USB flashing device and cable so you can flash the drive to newer firmware version when they are released in the future. Beware sellers selling these USB flashing devices for ridiculous prices.
The kit also comes with a DVD containing over 2GB of ADF files ready to use.
The big bonus however is that the kit comes with an Amiga branded 8GB USB Stick with the selector software installed. These are a high quality laser etched unit and are not available anywhere else.
Drive is set up as DF0: Simply unplug your old drive, plug in the new and you are away. If you require drive set to DF1: please ask.

Jumper pins have been installed so that future flashing of firmware is quick and easy.

Please note: Although the Floppy Emulator will work on an Amiga 1000, it will require you to boot a kickstart disk first (if you do not already have a kickrom board installed - which I highly recommend) as the current firmware does not support kickstart files. Kickstart files will hopefully be supported in the next firmware release, but until then you CAN use this with an Amiga 1000, however you MUST boot a kickstart disk first.
