I have been fortunate enough to have purchased a beautiful grouping antique jewelry pieces, all either Victorian or Edwardian, from a single source estate situation. All are out of one safety deposit box and have never, to my knowledge, been offered for sale. All of them will be listed here on over the next week, and all sold with . We sell a fair amount of jewelry. So, in order to differentiate the pieces out of this one estate from all the others we have for sale I will use the same template format and all listings will have a second line title that reads: "Safe Deposit Box ******** Lot *******" Please see my other listings for the other pieces.
This listing is for a stunning antique brooch or pendant masterfully hand crafted from 14k yellow gold in an open work foliate design with heart forms. It weighs 12.3 grams or 7.9 pennyweights of gold. The piece features a large round garnet at the center measuring 7 mm in diameter, with 6 rose cut diamonds bezel set around it. The gold leaves and hearts have an engraved texture which adds to the piece. around the outside of the brooch are 6 round garnets, and hanging at the bottom of the pendant is a 4 mm pearl. The reverse is equipped with a 1.5 inch long non gold C clasp, as well as a pendant hook used to hang a small pocket watch or the current added dangle. Although unmarked the brooch has been tested and is guaranteed to be 14k gold. Please see the many photographs for more on the look and condition as they are an important part of the description.
