This is a beautiful German cup that dates to about 1900-1905, if not earlier. I have two trays listed separately (\"Girls Feeding Chickens\") that go with this cup.
There are two scenes on this spectacular cup, each with a child in a landscape, set against a red background with a gold design and blue flowers. On one side, a little girl in a blue dress with a big bow in her hair kneels on the ground. She holds a head of lettuce in her left hand and feeds a leaf to a white bunny to the left. A brown-and-white bunny climbs onto her lap to get food. I\'m not sure I\'ve ever seen anything sweeter! On the other side, a brown in a brown suit sits atop a St. Bernard, stroking his large pet.
The cup is in amazing condition; in fact, I don\'t think it was ever used. It measures 2 1/5\" tall x 2 3/8\" diameter (top). It is still bright and shiny with only a couple of the tiniest flecks of paint loss. Even the gold on the handle is almost entirely intact. The interior is still very shiny, though there has been some darkening over the years. I have rarely come across a piece of litho this old that is so close to perfect!
