DESCRIPTION: Up for sale is this antique 1906 US Military saber sword with scabbard. We ARE NOT sword or military experts. We are offering this sword as-is in as-found condition. We have not attempted to clean or repair it in any way. It is marked on one side of the blade A.S.CO. with the maker\'s mark and 1906 below it. We found that this is the marking for Ames Sword Co. and it is a 1906 US Calvary Saber Sword and may have been aninteractionor experimental sword? Although it is not numbered so may not be.The opposite side of the blade has the U.S. mark.The opposite side of the blade has the U.S. mark.We will leave it up to the experts to determine. We are simply offering it as a U.S. military saber sword with scabbard. The handle is solid metal or steel and is brass wire wrapped over what appears to be some sort of skin or leather. The scabbard appears to be some sort of wood or bamboo? that was once wrapped in leather, but most of the leather wrap is missing. READ the condition report below for more details.
MEASUREMENTS:Total length with the scabbard on is approx. 37 1/2\". Length of scabbard is approx. 30 3/4\". Total length of sword is approx. 36 1/2\". Totallengthof blade is approx. 29 7/8\". Length of actual blade edge is 28 3/4\".

CONDITION: Antique orignalsabotsword with scabbard. Being offered as-is, as found. We ARE NOT saber sword or military experts so please any and all questions and view all photos BEFORE offerding. Feel free to request additional photos or measurements. Surfaces and finish show wear, surface rust and pitting. The leather handle has some leather pieces missing. Most of the leather is missing from the scabbard. The edges of the wood/bamboo? scabbard are split, may be the way they are made? and the leather would have held it together? Blade has no edge chips. Tip is dull but looks ok.
