Antique 1911 Chelsea Clock
Mantel Shelf Clock Made For George Newstedt

This a 1911-12 (serial # 69228) Chelsea Clock that appears to be made for George Newstedt (which as you can see, that name appears on the face of the dial). It is heavy brass. According to our research online, George Newstedt (we believe he\'s George H. Newstedt) who was a Jewelry store owner from Cincinnati, Ohio and was a founding partner of Newstedt Loring Andrews, a retail jewelry store that is listed as Cincinnati\'s oldest established business since 1805. But we\'re not positive that it is George \"H.\" Newstedt.I took it to a clock repair man and he removed the dial so we could see who made the clock, which proved to be what he thought (Chelsea)I did wind the clock up about 4-5 turns with a vintage HR bench clock key # 1 and the clock kept perfect time (for at least 20 minutes or so while I was around it). I recorded it for 1 minute and can be seen here It appears to be solid brass, and weighs a heavy 51/2 lbs. The serial number (69228) which is marked on the inside back (which can be seen in photo and on the bottom (on a piece of mahogany (?) wood). The clock It is in great condition.Measures approx: 7\" tall, 7\" wide at the base, 51/2 round and 3\" deep.

This clock is one of some that I found in a \"heated\" storage unit I purchased. I do not know anything about clocks other then what I\'ve researched. I will try to describe the best I can but hope my pictures will tell you what I can\'t.
