We were on our way back from Louisville & the Antique Bowie Knife Assoc. show and meeting when we dropped by our space in the Cowboys & Indian Antiques (4000 Central, NE.Albuquerque,NM.) to refresh our spot.I wasn\'t there long before I realized that my primitive knife selection had overpowered our spot so some serious triage was in order and that called for a big sale.This offering is for a big Sheffield style bowie knife that was manufactured in 19th Century Munster Germany by F Muller.I am pretty sure this knife post dates the Civil War but it is definitely pre-1891.It is 12 3/4\" overall with a 8 1/2\" blade.The attractive stag grips are mounted of a one-piece nickeled iron grip (again,,,Sheffield style).The grip frame does show nickel loss from age appropriate wear.The guard is scalloped and the blade and tip appear full without evidence of recent sharpening.This is an attractive and substantial 19th century antique bowie .This is a sale so,,,one offer or one hundred,,,this knife will have a new home.Thanks for stoppin\' in and takin\' a look.
