This sale presents a rareantique Millinery3-piece finely detailed mold of cast iron and brass with the matching cutter. The cutter was used to cut the fabric before it was placed in the mold/press,and it is very unusual to find all 3 pieces together. This mold is of an intricately detailed pointed leaf. These are the tools that were used in the antique millinery, dressmaking, costume-making, and other assorted fabric trades to make beautiful silk, leather and velvet flowers that adorned the fancy hats and clothing of the day. After the fabric was starched and cut, the cut piece would have been pressed between the two heated halves of these pressing molds to emboss the design. The iron pressing mold has a wood turned handle but I do not see any markings on the tool. A wonderful tool for antique-style flower creations, or just to display!

Measurements: The pressing iron is8-1/2 Inches overall in length

The brass cover mold is 2 inches long &2 inches wide at the widest part of the leaf

The cutter measures 5-1/4 inches long
