Antique Chelsea Ships Bell Clock 1915-1919 Boston
Price: US $420.00
Rare, early model antique Chelsea Ship\'s Bell Clock in brass and mounted on a wooden octagonal wall piece for display. Black incised Arabic hour numerals, blued open moon handles, and silvered dial. The clock case is 7.5\" wide and the face measures just under 6\". Face has the slow/fast feature and notes in caps \"U.S. SHIPPING BOARD\" \"CHELSEA SHIP\'S BELL\" and \"CHELSEA CLOCK CO. BOSTON U.S.A\". Bezel locking hinge. Key is included and it fits but I am not familiar with the winding process and am reluctant to force anything. Serial number #116985 which dates the clock to 1915-1919. Patent date is 1901 and there is another number 989898. The wall mount is 10 3/4\" wide. Please review the pictures for condition. Clock could use a professional cleaning if so desired. There is some wear on the front lower left. You can view examples on the Chelsea Clock Co. website. Considering the age of the clock I would say it is in good condition. I will be double boxing this piece so the shipping fee may be a bit higher. I also have a 1942 Husun Sextant and a ship wheel table from the same estate which will be sold for local pickup only. If a collector or dealer wins this sale and would like to schedule local pickup for this piece, I can arrange that. I am located in Western Massachusetts.

On Apr-01-18 at 10:04:01 PDT, seller added the following information:

I spoke to the deceased owner\'s wife this week and she recalled that they did mail it into Chelsea Clock Co. at one time and had it cleaned and operational so the serial number should be on record with the company.
I will also be listing the 1942 Husun sextant today which will be live by 9 pm EST and accessories from a Bubble sextant and a box which held sextant parts.
