A beautiful old Edwardian Art Deco diamond and rubies crescent brooch or stock pin, consisting of two strips of diamonds (54 in total) flanking a pave strip rubies (33 in total) set in a platinum top in a sterling silver mount, marked with Continental hallmarks.
A total of 33 baguette cut genuine rubies, each measuring approximately 1.4 mm, set in a pavéstrip in what looks to be a platinum top surrounded by a border of 54 round cut diamonds, also genuine, each with an average diameter of 1.7 mm which I calculate to be approximately 1 carat total weight in diamonds.

Maker\'s mark:Stamped with two indistinct hallmarks on the back. I can just make out a star in one of them. (see photo).

Date:Circa 1920s or earlier.

Condition:Good. The catch on the fastener is a replacement (not silver) and there\'s one tiny ruby missing at one end, otherwise no damage or losses. Needs a good clean. Typical marks of antique jewelry.

Size:Brooch measures 52 mm (2.1 inches) wide.
