A Rare, Antique French \"Japonisme\" Early Arts & Crafts / Aesthetic Movement Enamelled Glass Vase
Research confirming it is Baccarat & designed by Eugene Rousseau
The vase is of thick blown glass and is mounted on a Rococo Gilt Bronze Ormolu Base. On the underside is a number 4.
It is excellent quality & remains a beautiful thing, the enamel decoration has delicate floral detail with pretty and colourful gilt motifs/flowers & central \"moon like\" feature.
Condition
An honest piece, showing signs of age & use. The bronze base is without damage & remains very securely attached to the glass vase section, it sits/stands well. Small chip to the top edge rim of the vase (see photos), it is on the top edge only & has not travelled down the side - apparently this is relatively simple to fix. Some wear to the enamel decoration - again see photos. There is discoloration inside the vase, when filled with water this is not visible.
