~*~ Hello and Thank you for looking ~*~

A fascinating find!! ~ This wonderful bolt I\'m selling by the ONE YARD LENGTHS ~ ( please see measurement details per purchase below) It is a wonderful, unused antique French fabric is a toile pattern called \" Scenes Familiales\" ( Scenes from domestic Life) and is printed by an unknownmanufacturer, originally printed in the early 1800\'s. This bolt is an unused bolt that was being sold at a department store in Paris called Compagnie Francaise , founded in 1890. This fabric is an unused bolt that I date c 1900. It\'s a roller printed cotton fabric with red printing. The vertical design repeat is 18 inches so is the original scale of the earlier printing which would have been roller printed. This fabric is a medium weight cotton, ideal for light upholstery, pillows, curtains etc ~*~ This is a very rare and wonderful find ~ The original store tag is still intact on this panel, however there is only one, so I\'m afraid this tag is not included in any purchase ( unless the entire bolt was purchased) , but I have photographed it out of interest. ( Toile 606)

MEASUREMENTS: I\'m selling this bolt by the ONE YARD long lengths ~ so each purchase is for a length that measures : 31 inches wide by 36 inches ( one yard) long. ( the design repeat is 18 inches , so each one yard length will have a different repeat , if this is important to your purchase, please email ~*~ )

CONDITION : This bolt is in as found , unused condition ! ~*~ There are pale age marks on this length , however it is in wonderful , unused condition! The age marks are more visible on the back of the fabric and most likely would wash well , if one didn\'t want them as part of their project! ~*~

Please email me if condition is vital to your purchase and we can discuss condition in detail. When describing my textiles, I use my best judgment, knowledge and experience to estimate their age. I have had many years of research and hands on experience with these wonderful textiles. I describe items as Antique if I estimate the age to be 100 years of age or greater. currently define an antique as dating to 1930 or earlier. I describe items as Vintage, as per the dictionary definition, if I feel the textile has age, or is outdated or old-fashioned, dating from the past. If I use both Antique/Vintage when describing a textile, it is because I feel the textile is most likely 100 years of age or greater, but may fall just short of that date. I often work in collaboration with other colleagues and textile specialists to ascertain the approximate age of my textiles, however ultimately any statement of age is a matter of best judgment only~*~I also use my best professional judgment to ascertain the fiber content of my textiles, using sight and feel and where possible historical information and context to help me to identify plants used in a particular era. However, because my textiles are old, any statement of fiber content is again always only my best professional assessment. ~*~ I feel privileged and honored to bring these textiles to you, I sincerely thank you for your interest ~*~
