This is for abeautiful antique silver compact with a guilloche enamel pictorial scene on the lid. The colourful scene shows a group of young ladies playing instruments andfollowing a male teacher who looks to be making notes. The edges of the compact are inset with an aqua blue guilloche enamel and the underside of the lid is a mirror. The silver has full London import marks in the base whichdates the box to1927 along with the makers initials GS for George Stockwell. It is in excellent condition with no damage to the scene on the lid at all which is vivid and has no chips or cracks to the glassy smooth surface. There is a small chip to one of the thin blue enamel bands at the base on the side, but that is all, everything else is in good orderand the lid sits nice andflush and tight. The powder tray inside is marked Houbigant, France and fits nicely but i am unsure if this is original or just from an old tray of powder.The compactmeasures 62mm (2.5\") in diameter and stands 14mm (0.5\") deep.
