This is an antique hand carved and painted wood Apostle or Saint/Santos figure.

I am uncertain as to how old it is, but it definitely has very good age.

The carving measures 17 inches tall (43.2 cm).

As you can see in the photos, most of the paint is missing. About 20% of it is still intact. The face has more paint than the rest of the body, with about 80% intact.

One of the hands is missing its fingers. Each of the feet are missing their front sections/toes.

It was made with a number of different pieces of wood. The arms move a little, but not much. His left arm is attached, but very loose and the wood pulls away from the body as it has worn away around the nail. The legs don\'t move at all.

I\'m not sure which nails are original. Some sections have one or two nails and there are a number of holes where other nails must have been at one time. I\'m not exactly sure.

It doesn\'t stand up and must be propped up.

It weighs 1 pound 2 1/2 ounces (526 g).
