This is an early 20th century, around 1910, example of one of the most popular 1/2 plate cameras of its day, the \"Triple Victo\" made by Houghton. The camera is fitted with a very good 1 inch diameter Beck \"Symmetrical\" lens with iris aperture and Thornton Pickard Time/Instantaneous roller blind shutter, both of which are in very good undamaged condition and fully functional. The camera extends smoothly front and back and the opaque viewing screen at the back is undamaged. The main problem with the camera is the bellows which are no longer light proof having worn away along one side at the bottom as shown on the internal view, as a result we are selling this camera as a restoration project. The damage to the bellows is only apparent when viewed closely from one side only so it does still look quite stunning on display. Another cosmetic issue is the loss of the maker\'s circular nameplate underneath the opaque glass screen at the back although the brass model plate is still present at the front. The camera is marked with a serial number of 11138 and is fitted with a locking rotating tripod head. The camera measures about 8 inches square and is 2.5 inches deep when folded up without the lens and shutter assembly. I am sorry but I do not have any plate holders to go with this camera.
