Antique Japanese ko Imari KAKIEMON porcelain plate dish bowl 1670-90
Price: US $535.00
Here is an antique Japanese ko-Imari Kakiemon molded.dish. I believe this dish dates from the late seventeenth century. (1670-90)
The dish features a design of peaches, pomegranates, and citrons. The barbed rim is edged withfuchi-beni. There are some very small spur marks on the base.
The dish measures 7 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 1/2 inches in height.
There are no visible cracks on this piece. Along the rim, one chip and some tiny flea-bites have been filled with some kind of gold substance. (Kintsugi?) I have tried to highlight these areas in the photographs. There are some scratches on the nigoshide just below the claw-shaped citrons. I hope they are visible in photo #4.
A dish with this design was featured in a book on Kakiemon porcelain by Nishida Hiroko. (photo #12) It was listed as Genroku Period.
