thissale is for an antique machined brass railroad switch lantern mechanical salesman sample or patent model with many moving parts and finely crafted details. The main post is one cast piece with alternating foot steps and cut-away to reveal the control shaft post that rotates the switch lantern from white to red. The base has a lever that swings 180 degrees to rotate the light and there is a semi-circular retaining bar that holds the lever in place. This is a very nice piece and has excellent display quality. Mounted to two mahogany \"railroad ties\" This piece would be equally at home in an S or O gauge toy railroad diorama - especially one that featured all-brass steam engines and cars. size: 14 inches tall.
