This is for a beautiful and rare antique sterling silver handled fruit knife with one silver blade and two carbon steel blades.
It is made by Joseph Rodgers and Sons, cutlers to King Edward the 7th and King George 5th.
The silver is fully hallmarked with English hallmarks for Sheffield 1912 (year of Titanic sinking).
The master silver blade measures 2.75\" and is stamped RODGERS CUTLERS TO HIS MAJESTY with a trademark star and cross ENGLAND on reverse.
The longest steel blade is marked as before and measures 2.4\"
The smaller pen blade is stamped No6 Norfolk street sheffield england. This blade measures 1.6\", would have originally been longer.
Closed length is 3.25\" - It has theinitialsGW on the handle.
The blades do not wobble when opened but the silver blade and longer pocket blade do not snap on opening and closing. The smaller blade snaps on closing but not on opening. The main steel blade has nibbles at the blade edge and the smaller knife has nibbles at the edge and also an end piece snapped off.
This knife is a very honest piece and has had no alterations or repairs. It is a genuine piece and is sold as is.
