Antique Stoneware: 4G Crock w/ XL Cobalt Bird, att. West Troy Pottery, c1865, NR
Price: US $128.50

A decorated Stoneware Crock (sans handles), 4-Gallon capacity, New York State origin, probably West Troy Pottery, ca.1865. Front features an outstanding Song Bird design, artistically executed in dark, slip-trailed cobalt. Bold and Folky, this Bird is extra-large and appropriately scaled for a 4Gal. Salt-Glazed exterior; Albany Slip interior.

Condition: Just two handles, and an inner rim chip away from Excellent. Note: The handles were likely applied too early during the clay-curing process, resulting in a low vertical shear strength.

Displays brilliantly as-is; or a real show-stopper with a bit of expert attention, if desired. See photos for complete details and please consider them as part of the description. Measures 11-3/4\"W x 10-3/4\"H overall. The base and inner rim diameters are 11\" and 10\", respectively; 13.4 lbs.

Offered without reserve. Ships fully insured to the highest buyer, anywhere in the lower 48. Domestic (US) buyers with Paypal only, please. No International shipping, no exceptions. Payment is expected within 3 days. Good Luck, thanks for looking, and be sure to bookmark my sales, listed and ending daily.
