Antique Victorian women\'s skirt and sleeveless cape jacket, circa 1890. This outfit is finely constructed and finished, and is in very good condition considering its age.The skirt is lined. It is a gauzy black cotton-like fabric with rows of horizontal pleats near the bottom hem. Condition is very good overall, with some localized staining from age and storage. It has an approximately 28\" waist and is 40\" long.The cape jacket is black velvet and is trimmed at the collar with black lace. The velvet is in very good condition; the lace is generally very good as well with some minor damage. The front of the jacket closes with hidden metal fasteners; the top two of these are slightly askew. The front of the jacket also has decorative closures; these are generally intact, though small fabric elements are missing in places. The jacket is lined in black fabric, which has some fraying at the neckline and the bottom hem. Collar is 15\" in circumference, 30\" long from collar to hem down the back of the jacket.
