The brooch can be worn many different ways including as a standard brooch, or along your lapel, scarf, or hat.The brooch features a beautiful figural motif of a flower which has been created in a spray style. Once the metal hardened, it was removed, polished, and accented with the Persian turquoise stones. The casting process gives this piece a beautiful dimensional and life-like quality with stunning texture and detail. This is a very versatile brooch and can be worn at virtually every angle, giving you the flexibility to interpret the piece as you desire. The piece is finished with a locking \"c\" clasp with works well and holds your investment securely. This whimsical brooch is a beautiful example of a style long lost. The History
The Art Deco era is famous for being the \"Gatsby\" or \"Roaring Twenties\" era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period. Jewelry from this period was most often crafted between 1920 and 1940. Art Deco jewelry sometimes featured white gold or platinum, geometric designs, European cut diamonds, filigree, and calibre cut stones that are specifically cut to fit the design of the piece. During the Art Deco period jewelers often made jewelry upon custom order, this would often take weeks to months to completely craft by hand.
Retro jewelry refers to pieces created in the 1940s and 1950s. This was a period during which jewelry designers were largely influenced by the changes stemming from World War II. These designs reflect an infusion of futuristic vision with elements inspired by preceding periods, encompassing a variety of gemstones, shapes, and materials. Materials used commonly in Retro jewelry are gold, gold alloys, and silver as the wartime put a restriction on the used of platinum. Designs can be masculine, geometric and modern, or softer, more feminine and floral.
During the Art Nouveau and Art Deco eras, spray style jewelry became immensely popular. Spray jewelry often includes precious stones and metalwork that fans out in multiple directions to create ornate and attention-grabbing sparkle.
Persian Turquoise is a highly coveted stone that has been mined for thousands of years in what is now modern-day Iran; even as early as 2100 BC. The most coveted type of Persian Turquoise is a solid bright sky-blue hue that has no shades of green, spots, or veining of any kind. Antique Persian Turquoise was very difficult to source, as it had to be shipped across the ocean, which carried a hefty price tag. Today, Persian Turquoise is found in a variety of light medium blue and aqua blue hues with brown to black matrix. All packages are sent via USPS First Class Insured Mail unless another shipping option is chosen by the buyer.
