Yet another positively gorgeous brocade from central France. I adore this piece & actually purchased it for a room I am working on. The palette of a stone type blue against a bisque beige ground is phenomenal. Simple, yet very beautiful, especially in person. This is a mid density brocade with a very refined & elegant French nuance. It\'s not a terribly \"busy\" piece so lends itself well in an abundance of settings depending on how it\'s used, trimmed etc.. Again, refined, soft and elegant is the best way I can describe it. This is cotton or cotton/linen with possibly silk or a very fine satin thread. Excellent quality of it\'s day. It has 19thc look but is probably closer to the 30\'s-50\'s time frame. Could be a bit earlier but in that range though would mix with 18th & 19thc pieces very well. Excellent for pillows, window elements, small upholstery, lamp shades, purses/clutches if lined, and I think large scale doll elements or corsets etc.. would also fare very well with this lovely piece. A French settee, headboard or accent chair would be out of this world beautiful as would pillows. You will adore this very special piece.Condition is very very nice on this, may have been lightly utilized but in good clean order to use with a slightly aged patina from time. There is some storage or aging to the very last 2 or so inches on one side which can be turned under or trimmed away. As always, these pieces are old and have been handled over time so there could be a tiny fiber pull or tiny age spot but again, overall it is truly magnificent.Measures 45-46 inches wide a 1/2 yard ~ I have 4 to offer and can keep them in one length uncut.At the time of this listing, I have a lovely brocade in a green and blue variation in another listing in a similar pattern.I always combine shipping whenever possible.
