The History
This beautiful pin was made during the late Georgian and early Victorian Period! The Georgian Period is known for its very early styles as jewelry transitioned to become extremely popular later during the Victorian Era!
Rose Cut Diamonds have been made for hundreds of years. They really gained popularity during the 1700\'s and were used until about 1840 when they were replaced with the Mine Cut Diamond. Rose Cut Diamonds are unique in the way that they are one of the last types of stones to feature hand cleaved facets on the stone. These stones are meant to look rough as a stone cutter would hand cleave the facets by cutting the diamond with another diamond. They are highly prized and sought after in today\'s market due to their rarity as most of these stones were lost or re-cut into more modern cuts.
The piece includes hallmarks on the back of it, that let us know the pin is of French make!
The Piece
The diamonds in this piece are all beautifully rose cut and show case gorgeous facets that reflect light beautifully off of their surface. The diamonds are set throughout the entire gorgeous pin and secured down with lovely silver prong settings. The diamonds are in great condition and weigh in at around .84 Cts total.
The silver work in this piece would of been beautifully hand carved by a talented Georgian silver smith! The silver work is incrediblyextensivewith multiple diamond settings, and beautiful spheres of gold throughout that create gorgeous style for the piece. The silver work also includes elegant curves and other shapes near the border of the pin that gives it a unique style.
The pin is backed with a 14k yellow gold enclosed style backing that was added on at a later date.
The pin measures 2.25\" long by just under 1.5\" wide.
The fact that this gorgeous pin was made out of Sterling Silver was not a budget concern. The buyer most likely wanted his or her diamonds to shine beautifully with the contrast of the silver, thus a lot of jewelry lovers during the early Georgian Era would have their diamond jewelry set in high quality silver and still pay the same price as gold. White gold was not made until the 1900\'s, so during this Era silver was one of the best metal to compliment diamonds with.

The XRF requires specialized training in order to correctly read the results. This is a $25,000 piece of equipment and is extremely accurate. Rest assured that what you are receiving is 100% accurate.
