Antique Violin and Bow Circa 1850-1870

This is a beautiful antique violin in the original finish. It also has a bow. I believe it was made some time in the mid 19th century. Probably 1850-1870 or so. The back is a beautiful tiger maple in the original finish. We have not polished it or altered its finish in any way. I can see an old label in the inside that indicates that it is in the style of a Stradivarius. The label has the name of Stradivarius and dated 1748. The 48 looks to be done by hand, so possibly it is done from 1848. The condition is extremely good for its age. Once again it bears the original finish and I believe with a polish it would look and play wonderfully. We found a bow with it and there seems to be something imprinted on the handle of the bow, although it is difficult to see, I am not sure what it says. Theviolin measures 24\" long and the bow measures about 29\" long. A wonderful addition to any collection of 19th century violins. Good luck!
