Very good condition and guaranteed original Argentine Model1909 Mauser bayonet that is the rare first model with a short crossguard andlower muzzle ring, and longer grips. Only the first 3,000 Model 1909 bayonetswere produced before it was realized that the new bayonet would not interchangewith the Model 1891 and the design was altered. Bayonet has a full, sharp clearArgentine crest on the right side blade ricasso along with serial number A0211.Blade has original bright finish with a few spots of gray and was neversharpened. Remaining metal finish is original bright with some grease staining.Wood grips have original finish, lock button functions fine. Fitted in correctoriginal matching numbered steel scabbard that has been painted black and hassome small dings and an area of pitting under the paint. The throat rivets havebeen replaced with screws.
