Good condition Argentine Model 1909 Mauser bayonet. Thisinteresting piece has a highly modified muzzle ring. Done a long time ago,possibly in WWI by the Germans for an ersatz issue bayonet (possibly for theGEW 88). Blade has a dull tip, possibly modified for a trainer. Maker markedWEYERSBERG KIRSCHBAUM on the left side of the blade. Blade has nice originalbright finish and was never sharpened. Remaining metal finish is bright showingsome flaking to brown. Wood grips have original finish and a good tight fitwith some handling marks, lock button functions fine. Fitted in correctoriginal steel scabbard, does not go in the whole way. Scabbard has brightplated metal finish with some dents and dings. Also complete with a leatherfrog that is soft and supple with some wear. Stitching is nice and tight. Aninteresting bayonet that warrants further research.
