Vintage Avon 1876 Cape Cod Collection- Pedestal Mug - Great for Coffee or Tea
I have multiples of these. This listing is for 1 pedestal mug. Thisglass mug is5 inches high.This is a great gift or use it as a replacement for a broken item or to add to your collection. It is also great for a medieval or renaissance wedding or fair. Please see my other items for more of the Cape Cod Collection.
All items in the collection were carefully washed and dried by me so that I could make sure you are getting an item you would be proud of displaying or using. If you have multiple items to purchase, doing it all here will save youa loton shipping costs. I used actual shipping weights of items for multiple purchases in my store of any items. If you put multiple items in your cart you are not charged addition handling fees, but the actual cost of the additional weight. Depending on the item, that might only mean a dollar or two for shipping and handling on the next item. I charge a fair price for the item, and I don\'t gouge on shipping.
It is our goal to ship your order within 24 hours of receiving payment, the same day if possible Monday through Friday.
I do combine shipping costs.
Shipping weight for the pedestal mug is1 lb 2 oz. I put in the exact weight. Shipping weights are rounded to the next pound by the carriers (if applicable.)

About the 1876 Avon Cape Cod Collection
The design is based on an old, sandwich glass pattern and inspired by the lacy delicacy of the classic Roman rosette pattern, introduced in 1975 by Wheaton Glass for Avon. They were commissioned to do the pieces, since they were already making decorative decanters for them.
Avon chose to call their new dinnerware the 1876 Cape Cod Collection because it recalled the beauty of this quality glass and the spirit of the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial, which celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the area where sandwich glass originated.
This was Avon\'s first venture into a dinnerware line and, because it was well received, Avon continued to make more items until the pattern was discontinued in 1993. In all, 38 different pieces were produced. (I have seen some list it as 37 pieces - if so it is because they are counting the cup and saucer as one item. They were sold in one box together.)
This splendid collection is reminiscent of early American pressed glass called “Sandwich” whose lacy, intricate designs, fine background stippling and sparkling brilliance, reflected the superb craftsmanship of its makers.
The Boston & Sandwich Glass Works, founded on Cape Code in 1825, had produced many of the most elaborate, detailed designs of this quality glass. Other companies in the region competed, but the popularity of “Sandwich” pieces resulted in the name becoming a generic term for the pressed glass.
