I have the perfect setup for you! I wanted to make repairing or restoring the 747 as easy as possible while increasing reliability, serviceability and repeat-ability and this kit hits all the marks. This kit was designed for the 747B however it will work in the 747. Some small differences may apply but overall the same thing. ***** The last two photos show a pcb assembled with the existing bayonet sockets and trimmers. The first two photos of the PCB without those items which are to be reused, show what you will receive along with all other resistors & caps*****This kit purchase comes with:
- Pre-built / assembled PCB with all high grade resistors, caps and components with tighter tolerances, higher temp specs and overall, drastically more reliable hardware. Only the best parts used
The BOM on this setup is not cheap by any means!
- PCB comes with male - gold pins and matching female pins to solder onto each wire lead. This makes the PCB easy to remove and service once it has been installed
- Parts to replace every resistor, diode, cap and other in the B&K747. While you are in there, why not go through it all? This includes all wire wound resistors

- Some original components may vary visually, even colors could vary with age. Make sure to take detailed photos of all wire colors and placements on the original just in case.What you need from your old tester:
- Reuse your original bayonet sockets and #55 bulbs. If your bulbs are questionable, source only NOS #55 bulbs for replacement (make sure to clean the bulbs and sockets properly)
- Reuse the 3K 1.5W wire wound - metal cased trimmer from your original PCB. These are almost never bad, so clean properly and install
- Reuse 10K and 2M thumbwheel trimmers (we can provide replacements if needed for an additional $5) These also are almost never bad
- This is a component level parts kit only. Switches, levers, potentiometers, meter, tube sockets, transformer, front panel, case and so forth are not included - reuse what you have (have to say it as someone will ask)
- This kit DOES replace the terminal strip PCB under the primary PCB! I added all components to the main PCB for easy installationSkill level of the kit:
- This kit is for experienced electronic techs with restoration experience
- If you have not worked with high voltage AC electronics, DEATH by electrocution is highly possibly when calibrating after installation (do not leave the unit plugged in when installing)
- For an experienced tech, the kit takes about 2 hours to complete or less. This includes removing the old PCB and installing everything newWhat we recommend:

- We recommend SAFE working conditions
- We recommend a good soldering iron / station with quality solder
- We recommend all contacts and wire wound trimmers be cleaned with Deoxit D5 prior to installation
- We recommend you have adequate knowledge of electronic restoration prior to installing this kit!We are not responsible for:
- Cooking or killing yourself during calibration because you really do not know what you are doing. We have plenty of warnings - experienced techs only!
- Frying your tube tester. This kit works flawlessly and has been proven to be a direct replacement. You goof it up - it is on you
- You are retrofitting new parts into an antique piece of equipment. Old things have a habit of crapping out such as transformers and meters. In short, there is no warranty on our parts kit.
