We are pleased to offer this c1860 Bailey & Co. sterling silver classical medallion tea service.

Sadly we are selling our 40 year collection of 18th and 19th century American silver, including many medallion examples.

Archaic bottle form. Center with classical profile medallion in oval frame and richly engraved anthemion and shell.

The well cast and fit cover with cast Grecian helmet atop beaded pedestal, original fastener below.

The cream jug and sugar with medallion, each unique from the others.

Never monogrammed.

This Bailey & Co. coffee pot is just under 11 inches tall and the entire set 60 standard ounces.

Hallmarked as shown.

In very fine condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. Stands perfectly firm on table or display shelf. The classical masks and floral retain their original detail. Mild wear.
