BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE FRENCH NEEDLEPOINT PETIT POINT PANEL 19th C LA GRAND AMOUR

This is a beautiful antique French hand worked needle point and petit point panel from the 19th century.
It would be superb to incorporate into a period cushion or a small upholstery project or even just to frame. It could also make a wonderful chair seat panel.
Worked in wool and silk the bottom left hand half carries a striped design with pale duck egg blue borders interspersed with climbing roses.
The top right hand corner is simply delicieux, a couple dance below the boughs of a tree.
The figures are very very finely worked in silk petit point work and the stitches on the faces and arms are so tiny that this really must have been a labour of love.
The detailing of their period costumes is superb even down to the pink bow in mademoiselles hair.Both wear 18th century clothes and the overall scene is simply charming.
The panel is all good and strong with a little foxing on the mesh edges ( the outer area with no stitches) from storage and it does not detract and has not affected the needlework at all.
The panel measures 23.5\" x 22\"
A charming period display for any vieille maison collection.
