Description Awonderful decorativeEnglish antiqueVictorian solid sterling silvercalling card case by the silversmithHenry Matthewsand with a full set of English silver hallmarks forBirmingham 1899.Superbquality genuine 117 year old sterling silver example, in excellentcondition, with a hinged lidand sprung push button lid opener, and is all-over decoratedwith beautiful embossed scenes; one depicts a London roof-top scene with St Pauls in the distance and the other depicts 2 winged angels on a swing. Inside it is fully gilded and it has a good heavy silver weight, approx 89 grams. Still housed in its original fitted red morocco leather case with velvet and silk interior and it is nice and heavy, weighs 89 grams. Importantly there are no added personal engraved inscriptions. A real beauty.
