Up for sale is a lightly used one ear Cowperson Tack show horse headstall. It is made from good quality double stitched medium oil leather with a stamped design. The edges have a rubbed finish. The headstall has good sized substantial buckles that are marked Cowperson Tack. Each cheek piece has 4 engraved silver conchos of a graduating size. The biggest one at the bottom is 2\" in diameter. There are matching silver bit conchos. The one ear piece has a matching 1\" diameter concho at the base. I took off the biggest conchos to see how they are marked. Both are stamped Silver Plate. The end of one side of the crown strap is stamped Cowperson Tack.
This is a horse sized headstall with plenty of room for adjustment. It measures about 36\" to 42\" from bit end to bit end. There are 4 holes on each side.
The headstall is in very good used condition. I have the feeling it spent way more time hanging in the tack room than on a horse. The leather is supple and about the only sign of use is on the crown strap where the buckles were set on the longest hole. There is some darkening above the hole. The silver in great shape. I polished it up and it shines beautifully. It looks almost as good as sterling silver.
This headstall should look stunning in the show pen. It has a great vintage look with the type and size of conchos used on the cheeks.
