A fine old violin Couesnon / Leon Bernardel
A beautiful old violin, made in France - ca. 1915 - 1920 by the highly reputated Couesnon & Coworkshop of Leon Bernardel in Mirecout.
The violin has its 2 original labels inside, and comes with a reliable certificate (J. Rampal from Paris- included) - so you can buy with confidence.
Today these violins are greatly respected, and have a good reputation.
A violin with a nice original brown/orange varnish on a golden ground, which gives it a beautiful appearance of wear.
This violin is made of good materials - the two-piece back , nicely figured maple, flamed ribs and back.
No cracks, little varnish wear at the back.
This violin produces a strong tone, with an open but warm timbre.
This violin comes with a new set of strings and a new chinrest, tailpiece with 4 adjusters.
May need further adjustments according to your personal wishes.(brand of strings, bridge heigth,...).
