Benge Pro Level Pocket Cornet Trumpet A+ Player - Conversion

Okay, here\'s how to get a truly professional pocket cornet - it\'s a Benge pocket trumpet that had been lovingly modified to accept your cornet mouthpiece. I\'ve had this horn for a few years and always prized it. But then my wife bought me ANOTHER one for my birthday a couple years ago so this one just doesn\'t get played (it doesn\'t have the emotional value to me that my other one has). So I\'ve just decided that I don\'t need 2. No problems issues or anything to report. I\'ve played it in trad jazz settings and with rock bands and it\'s a head turner every time. And if you do some research, you\'ll quickly find that these aren\'t toy horns. They are basically professional Benge trumpets just wound up tighter. I did (obviously) have it modified to my specs. A conn cornet receiver was tweaked and fit inside the original receiver (perfect seamless job!) so that it now takes cornet mouthpieces. It played a bit sharp because trumpet mouthpieces are longer so to keep the tuning slide from being pulled too far out all the time, the tuning slide ferrules were traded out for longer ones. I also had an ambassador style finger ring put on it - I was using a Harmon mute with a harmonica mic at the time and I wanted to make it impossible to drop (a ring just felt safer). Very little playing time after last chem clean. Bare brass (the lacquer was spotty). Amazing valves, it\'s an awesome horn in pro gig-ready condition! Please ask me any questions you might have. Oh - serial number is 984xxx and it comes with the original vinyl cases (which are kind of annoying because they leave rubber dust stuff on the horn because the lining is dissolving. But they\'re original so you get them too!

 - I ONLY sell to buyers in North America. Period. I HATE filling out all those customs papers and tracking is really questionable overseas. And shipping can be so darned expensive that it\'s usually just not worth the hassle. So only offer if you live in the United States or Canada. Thanks! Check my response while you\'re at it :) Oh feel free to ask any questions!

UPDATE!!! Well, i\'ve received several e-mails from one buyer in particular that seems to think that converting this pocket trumpet into a pocket cornet was a sinful thing to do. I did it just because there really wasn\'t a pro level pocket cornet on the market at the time - my best alternative as a cornet player was to modify a great horn). Anyhow, i looked around and found the original parts! They will be included with the sale. To reverse the modifications your favorite brass tech would have to remove the inserted cornet receiver (it\'s basically anadapter that\'s just soldered INSIDE the original trumpet receiver), swap out the tuning slide ferrules with the slightly shorter original ones that i will include, and if you want it 100% stock again, you can put the original finger hook back on (which i will also include). Hope that makes sense!
