A Joshua Billcliff \'\'Royalty\'\', English Antique Mahogany & Brass Plate Camera Outfit with Accessories A scarce & unusual Billcliff \'\'Royalty\'\' plate camera kit including 3 double dark slides, wooden tripod, original leather case and Wray lens, which may be of interest to collectors.The camera is marked, \'\'Royalty\'\' to the cameras brass tripod mounting ring. The mahogany body with no obvious faults or losses and the black leather bellows in good order with no splits or other damage.The rear standard appears to have a mechanism enabling the rear glass screen and frame to be rotated 90 degrees.The lacquered brass lens is marked \'\'Wray, London\'\' and \'\'8 x 5\'\' and \'\'No.2844\'\'.The original leather case carries a brass owner\'s plaque marked, \'\'Sidney R. Heap, West Derby, Liverpool\'\'.
(Mr Sidney Rankin Heap was an interesting 19th century character of some note, being Sherriff of Montgomeryshire and a former owner of gothic revivalist Mellington Hall in the Welsh Marches).
